Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
WatchMatrix.TV does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no server operated by us that stores information about you. This policy explains the little there is to know.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers, and we do not ask for or store your name, email, location, or any other personal information. Newer features — a TV guide, watch parties, and a personal watch tracker — keep everything on your own device: we never receive, log, or store what you watch. There is no server-side record of your viewing anywhere.
What stays on your device
Your current set of streams (your “multistream” layout) is saved locally in your browser or app using local storage, purely so it’s there when you come back. It never leaves your device except when you choose to share it: the layout is also encoded in the page URL, so if you copy or share that link, the people you share it with can open the same layout. Clearing your browser or app data removes it.
Your watch tracker (“My list”)
If you mark titles as watching or watched, that list is stored only on your device(local storage in your browser, or the app’s local storage) — it is never sent to us and needs no account. We keep no copy and cannot see it. You can export it to a file or clear it at any time; there is no cloud sync, so moving your list to another device is done by exporting and importing that file yourself.
Watch parties
A watch party keeps everyone’s player in sync on the same title. It is off until you turn it on, and before your playback information is shared we ask for a separate, explicit opt-in. When you agree and join a party, your playback state (play/pause and position) and the current titleare sent directly, peer-to-peer, to the other people in that partyso everyone stays in sync. This information goes only to your party — never to us — and no video is ever transmitted; each person streams from their own account on the original service. Party information is held only in memory for the session and is gone when you leave or close the tab. You can decline (and simply not join), and you can withdraw your consent later.
The Matrix TV browser extension
Our optional companion extension (“Matrix TV — Watch parties & tracking”) can keep a watch party in sync and note what you’re watching on the streaming sites you choose. It is off by default and enabled per site: nothing runs on a site until you turn that specific site on and confirm. When enabled, it reads that site’s own player state (title and position) on your device only— to sync a party (peer-to-peer, as above) and to build your local watch history. It never sends your viewing to any server we operate, never captures or relays video, and only works on the sites you enable. Turn any site off at any time.
TV guide data
The TV guide shows what’s new and leaving soon across streaming services. That listing data is licensed from a third-party catalog provider (the Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night) and is built into the site; browsing the guide sends no personal informationto us or to them, and “Watch on <service>” simply opens that service’s own site in a new tab.
Third-party streaming platforms
WatchMatrix.TV shows streams using each platform’s official embed (YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble, and X). When one of those embeds loads, that platform may collect data about the playback under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Please review the privacy policy of any platform whose content you watch:
Pairing a phone as a remote
If you use the optional “pair remote” feature, your devices connect directly to each other (peer-to-peer). A public connection broker is used only to help the two devices find each other; it is not operated by us and we do not store the contents of that connection.
Children
WatchMatrix.TV is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children. Because it can display unfiltered third-party live content, it is intended for users aged 17 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. Because we don’t collect contact details, we can’t notify you directly - please check back here.
